The Waterfront Kota Kinabalu
Every day around the late afternoon the Waterfront begins to come alive, as workers come to set up their premises and the chefs start to prepare their special Ala carte. By evening the whole place will be bustling with people looking for a great dinning experience from the many restaurants at the Waterfront.
Western, Chinese, and local cuisines are all featured here, and the place is very popular with the tourists as the food quality here is ensured. Other than fine dining the Waterfront is also a great place for socialising and party, there are pubs, cafes, karaokes and The Bed, one of the biggest dance clubs in town.

The KK Waterfront is located at the centre of Kota Kinabalu City, and next to the Kota Kinabalu Central Markets. Only about 10 minutes walk from any hotels or backpacker hostels in the city, and opposite to the trendy Warisan Square, the KK Waterfront has slowly emerged as the gourmet centre of Kota Kinabalu City.
One of the finest seafood restaurants in Kota Kinabalu, Port View Seafood Village has 30 chefs and their assistants to cook up the ultimate ocean flavours. Seafood lovers have plenty to choose from the cascading rows of aquariums, where clams, crabs, fish, lobsters, and prawns are kept alive. Fresh sea specialties is the name of the game at Port View Seafood Village. Butter Prawn, Deep fried Soft Shell Crabs and Steamed Garoupa are just some of the well known dishes here.
Oregano Cafe serves a variety of local delicacies, and it also boasts of a wine bar that stocks plenty of selected wines.
The Loft is simple English bar that service beers and liquor, and Happy Hour is from 5pm to 9pm daily.
Toscani’s Wine & Dine Cafe serves western cuisines, beers and wines.
A nice place to have a foot massage and enjoy the sunset on the horizon.
Harbour Cafe has mostly local delicacies on its menu. Laksa, fried noodle, and curry are some of the specilities here.

The Aussie Barbeque and Bar, which serves mostly western food, was started by a company called Pirates of Borneo, which was run by an Australian couple. Today this place has a new ownership.
Truly the Waterfront Kota Kinabalu is a nice place to dine, unwind and drink away….

As The Aussie Barbeque and Bar is now under new management and ownership since march 1st 2009 and we wish all persons to know and understand that what ever was done and said in past is the past.. As new owners wish to start a fresh start and feel all the bad press due to pirates of borneo, and previous owners have damage the place. Until we take on renovations we want all ppl to know. the old has gone and new is here
