Check out the many aquariums that stock a vast variety of sea creatures. Apart from the common dishes which are priced commonly, one can get a bargain with the rare seafood. Live free culture shows are performed at the centre stage on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Business Hours at Sedco Complex is from 4pm to 2am.

Top end seafood restaurants have 1kg of steam fresh prawn at RM 70 to RM 80 onward plus 15% services and tax charges. While the mid-range has 1 kg of steamed fresh prawn at RM 70 nett. And the budget seafood restaurant charge around RM 45 to RM 50 nett for 1 kg of steamed fresh prawn.
Top End
There are about 3 top end restaurants in the city and a few at the suburbs. Port View Seafood Village is at the Waterfront Kota Kinabalu, and Ocean Village is just beside Promenade Hotel. While Grand Port View Seafood Restaurant is near to Jesselton Point, and is also popular venue for wedding and anniversary function.

The budget seafood restaurants are normally located away from the city centre, about 20 to 30 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu. One of the most popular is Salut Seafood Restaurant, while Gayang Seafood Restaurant and New Gaya Seafood Restaurant are just as good. Taxi is the best option.The journey from 1Borneo to Salut takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and the taxi fare is RM40 one way.

Old Village Seafood Restaurant at Sedco Complex is a good bet for cheap seafood in town. If you can find your our transport, Salut Seafood Restaurant, where many locals go, is one of the cheapest in Kota Kinabalu.

The journey to Salut or Gayang will take about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Pine Resort. After Tamparuli town follow the direction that leads to Rasa Ria Resort (Don’t turn into the Rasa Ria Resort junction), once on Jalan Sulaman just follow the direction to KK. After passing a big bridge Gayang and Salut will be on the left hand side. Both are good, if you like Kampung Style feel, I would recommend Salut Seafood, if you prefer the classy type than Gayang is better.
Hi, Pls advise with some details how to drive to Salut form Marina Court Condo in KK city,. How to get onto Jalan Sulaman from city and landmark to lookout near Salut. Thanks.
From KK city take the Likas Bay Highway, after passing a bridge and that’s where Jalan Sulaman begins. Soon 1Borneo Hypermall will be on the left, and the highway will lead to a traffic light, turn left and just follow Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort sign board. Still on Jalan Sulaman after passing an area with many coconut stores on both side of the road, Salut Seafood is just about 3 to 4 km on your left. Salut Seafood Restaurant has a big signboard that you won’t miss.

From Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen just drive north or drive toward the Jesselton Point (Jetty), and the road will link to Likas Bay Coastal Highway.

I do not see any halal certification at these restaurants. Just saw many Malays eat there.
Hi im going to KK for the first time. i will be staying at at warisan square near jln fuad stephen. How do i get to salut restaurant. Will i hav to take a cab. How much can i except for the cabfare. Hi Vicky.. Yes taxi is the only option. Taxi from KK to Salut costs about RM 60 one way, will cost more when ask to wait. 1kg butter prawn is at RM 60, 1kg Curry Crab at RM 30, steam fish starts at RM 60, and vegetables start from RM 12. Malays and muslim are totally different. Whether malays know the how the halal works its up to their knowledge. But what do I know (basic) in halal regulations even canned alcohol drinks cannot be put with normal beverage in one fridge..or pork meat hanged with cow`s meat in one cold room ( one hotel got summoned for this )…halal food is one thing but halal kitchen is same as important…do we know know how does beer glasses got washed? is it separately or with the seafood plates? does the kitchen have a muslim assistant as required in the halal law? Does the wok used to cook seafoods are used to cook non-halal foods?.
At least this could give general info to the muslim malays visiting there ..
May I know how to get to floating sea food market from 1 Borneo? How much does it cost? i recall there is a along the river that has many restaurants and towards the end there is one or 2 big sea food restaurtants…opposite Promenade hotel. where can i get to the place from I Borneo? thanks a lot!

All these restaurants have no halal sign, just a sign with “No Pork Served”.
