Uncle Chang’s Sipadan Mabul Dive Lodge
Sipadan Island is consistently rated as one of the top five diving destination of the world. This awe-inspiring island and the waters are a dream for snorkelers and divers alike. With as many as 20 dive sites around the island, divers may take up to a week to explore all the splendid underwater nature wonder of Sipadan. The marine lifes at Sipadan Island are in staggering numbers, to name a few there are barracuda, batfish, jackfish, parrotfish, sharks, and turtles. For those fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time, Sipadan is also visited by hammerheads shark, manta rays, eagle rays and whale sharks. The Barracuda Point never fails to enchance the divers with its school of barracuda numbering in thousands swimming in unison, and at time in an even more spectacular circular motion.
Lodges and resorts have ceded to operate at Sipadan Island since 2005 for conservation reason. Today all the major resorts are at Mabul Island some 25 minutes away by boat from Sipadan. Uncle Chang’s Sipadan Mabul Dive Lodge offers budget accommodation for the avid divers, especially those who plan for a longer stay. Uncle Chang’s Lodge is located at Mabul Island and looking out to the Celebes Sea. Built like true Malaysian sea village style with the house on stilts at sea, visitors get to sample a bit of traditional Bajau (local tribe) way of life as well. With a brand new spacious open air dinning halls, a revamped dive centre, and newly added guest rooms, Uncle Chang’s Lodge welcomes guests to take advantage of its special promotional prices. RM 50.00 per person per night includes all meals plus free tea, coffee, water and sandwiches. Uncle Chang’s Lodge can only cater for 20 guests at any given time.
Diving courses are also available at Uncle Chang’s Sipadan Mabul Dive Lodge, qualified instructors and Dive Masters with ten to fifteen years of diving experience to guide one through. This diving course will be a memorial one because of learning the scuba skill at one of the world top diving site. Diving should be fun, but the most important thing is safety. Uncle Chang’s Lodge only use quality, well maintained equipment and keeping the guests safety in mind at all time. The dive store is also fully stocked with many quality diving equipment for hire.

Muck Dive is what put Mabul Island on the world map. Dragon Fish, Frog fish, Stone fish, Scorpion fish, and Nudibranch these are the rare and unusual creatures that divers come to see at Mabul Island, and the near by Kapalai Reef. Uncle Chang’s Sipadan Mabul Dive Lodge house reefs are just 5 minutes from its own jetty. Night Dive is available at Mabul Island and also at Kapalai Reef. There is no park fee required at Mabul and Kapalai.

Getting Here: There are daily flights (45 minutes) from Kota Kinabalu International Airport to Tawau Airport. From Tawau Airport takes another hour of car ride to Semporna, and from the Semporna jetty to Mabul island is two and half hours boat ride. Uncle Chang’s Lodge charges RM 100.00 for the return Mabul Island trip.

the most lousy service that i ever meet. accommodation is bad - no mirror,no basin in toilet. pay for day trip but only bring u to one spot. So disappointed …

I went diving Sipadan. Great for pelagics. Mabul is also very nice, lot’s of macro.
