Langkah Syabas Beach Resort is a small and cosy little resthouse in Kinarut. It has a small beach that looks out to the calm and serene South China Sea, and also has a good view of the pyramid shaped island, Dinawan . Located approximately about 30 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu, and only 15 minutes from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Langkah Syabas Beach Resort is close enough for a day trip to Kota Kinabalu, but far enough to get away from the hustle and bustle city life style.
All together there are only 18 chalets in Langkah Syabas Beach Resort, and these chalets are divided into four different room types, namely Standard Chalet, Superior Chalet, Deluxe Chalet, and Family Chalet. These chalets come in various sizes and configurations with an average size of 37 square metres, some are individual units, and others are of semi detached style. One plus point is that all these 18 chalets have their own private verandah. The swimming pool at Langkah Syabas Beach Resort is very inviting and great for a cool and relaxed swim. Situated about 100 metres from the beach, this pool is surrounded by a tropical garden, which in turn is surrounded by the chalets. The tropical garden consists of many tall tropical trees which give lots of shade to the swimming pool, making swimming under the hot scorching noon sun a present experience. Sun bed, garden tables and chairs are available around the swimming pool area.
The Balcony Restaurant is located on the first floor of the main administration building, and all the dining tables and chairs are positioned on the balcony, giving every table a good view of the surrounding area. The Balcony Restaurant offers a high standard of Western cuisine together with some Asian favourites. The Captain’s Bar, inside the Balcony Restaurant, is a fully stocked liqour station. Come and sample some cocktails at the Captain’s Bar, and this is also a perfect place to sit and absorb the brilliance sunset over the South China Sea horizon.
One of the best-kept secrets of Kinarut district is the Sunday Roast Buffet Lunch at The Balcony Restaurant. This famous Sunday Roast Buffet consists of popular dishes like traditional roast beef and lamb, cauliflower cheese, shepherd’s pie, yorkshire pudding, assorted salads, baked potato, pumpkin soup, and many more. Note: this buffet is only available on Sunday from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, price at RM 35 ++ per person.
