Likas Fish & Pork Noodle

Start your breakfast with a roar at this small little stall at the Likas shop lots opposite the All Saint Secondary School. The specialty of this stall is its mouth-watering minced fish noodle, dry or in soup. The minced fish is very crunchy, everyone will love it. Other than the minced fish, guests can choose from a varieties of ingredients to go with their noodles. These ingredients are meat ball (pork & cuttle fish), wonton, fresh prawn, and a few varieties of tofu with fish paste stuffing. The chosen ingredients are served with a steamy hot soup which is mild and sweet in taste. Other than noodle, be hoon and kuai tiaw are also available. Price start from RM 5. A word of advice, don’t go too late, the latest by 11 am. Once the prepared ingredients are sold out, the boss would close the stall, and call it a day.

Self-Drive Sabah

Sabah is the second largest state in Malaysia and it has a total land mass of 76,115 square kilometers. Since independence Sabah road system has improved tremendously, today almost all the major cities and towns can be reached by cars. Only a few remote places that need the service of a 4WD to get through. Most of the cities and towns are located near the coast while a few important towns are located in the interior. Get a group of friends, three or four or even six, rent a car or a Van, and self-drive around Sabah. All you need is a valid International driving licence, or a Malaysia driving licence. The benefit of self-drive allows visitors to travel at their own pace, to visit the places of their interest only, and visitors can also save travelling cost with a good plan. This experience also gives visitors a chance to test drive Malaysia local made cars namely Perodua and Proton.

Syarikat Yu Kee

Walk by Gaya Street in the evening, one will not miss this nice herbal smell from a popular restaurant called Syarikat Yu Kee. Located towards the end of Gaya Street and immediately opposite to Jesselton Hotel, Yu Kee Restaurant is easily spotted, especially around 7pm to 9pm, where crowds can be seen gathering by its road side waiting for seats. Night after night this restaurant is packed to its limit with locals and tourists alike. So what’s cooking? Bak Kut Teh is the key word here. Everyone comes to Yu Kee Restaurant for one thing only and that is the very delicious Bak Kut Teh. And lately many visitors from China have been dining here to find out what this tasty Bak Kut Teh is all about.
