The spirit of helping is an in born mentality in all of us, just that some would practise it more than others. A simple act of friends asking friends for a few extra ringgits to help the needy people of Songsogon Magandai, is all that is needed to kick start this "Solar Lamp Project". Sonsogon Magandai is one of the very remote areas in the northern part of Sabah. This small hamlet does not have any clinic, school, shops and electricity. One can say life here is basic to the core.

Tip Top Restaurant and Bar is a good place to sit down and enjoy some good drinks and meals, after visiting the Tip of Borneo. Burger, noodle, rice and a special local dish called Hinava are served here. Beer, juice, soft drinks, coffee and tea are available here too. This restaurant and bar near the beach is operated by an English man called Howard.
Everyday some 150 persons will take up the challenge to conquer the summit of Kinabalu, the highest Mountain in South East Asia. Even at a height of 4,095 metres, no special climbing skill is needed to complete the task, just an eager heart and a healthy body will do. On average climbers will take two days to complete the journey, and those who make it to the top at Low's Peak will be rewarded with a breath-taking sunrise view. Mount Kinabalu is also a World Heritage Site.
