Where does one begin to search for a good bowl of laksa in down town Kota Kinabalu, which has so many restaurants. Well the search stops at Yee Fung Kopitiam. Located along the oldest street of Kota Kinabalu, which is famous for it’s Sunday Gaya Street Fairs, Yee Fung Kopitaim serves one of the best laksa in Kota Kinabalu. The crowds testify to this, for Yee Fung kopitaim is always full with customers from morning until afternoon, and this has been going on for the past 25 years.

The Olde Station Kopitiam

Original coffee from the colonial time, and the ever popular toast bread with butter and kaya, these two items are the most memorial food and drink from the Olde Station Kopitiam. These two are also the must have products here.

Walk into any Olde Station Kopitiams and immediately one is overwhelm with the strong smell of burn charcoal. The burn charcoals are still used to toast the white bread here.
The Olde Station Kopitiam has already opened 2 outlets in Kota Kinabalu, one in City Mall and another one in Warisan Square. The third Olde Station Kopitiam is scheduled to open in 1Borneo on March 2008.

“Ngau Chap” Laksa with noodle

Today’s special is “Ngau Chap” Laksa, a fusion of two dishes. “Ngau Chap” serves nicely marinated cow’s parts, like beef balls, cow’s intestine, cow’s stomach, and even cow’s ligament. Laksa, found widely in Malaysia, is a popular spicy noodle soup made with curry and coconut milk. Put these two together, it’s a bust.
